3X3 RULES

3x3 Basketball is the fastest-growing urban sport in the world, blending the energy of streetball with the structure of professional competition. Played on a half-court with 3 players per team (plus 1 substitute), 3x3 is a dynamic, fast-paced game where teams race to 21 points or fight for victory in 10 thrilling minutes. With a 12-second shot clock, every possession is intense, requiring speed, skill, and strategy.

Governed by FIBA and now part of the Olympic Games, 3x3 brings basketball to new heights with global tournaments, high-energy events, and a format that’s easy to play and fun to watch.

Rules: The Quick Version

TEAM: 3 starters, one sub

REFEREES: 1 or 2 per game

GAME CLOCK: 10 minutes

SHOT CLOCK: 12 seconds

BALL: Official 3x3 ball is size 6 with the weight of a size 7

FOULS: 6 team fouls given

BONUS: 7-9 fouls: penalty is 2 free throws.

10+ fouls is 2 free throws + ball possession

COURT: Half size, 2x faster, 1 basket

SCORING: Inside the arc is 1 point, beyond the arc is 2 points - continuous play after scoring

TO WIN: First to 21 points or team who leads at the end of 10 minutes
